Hiram, GA
The city of Hiram, GA, is located in Paulding County along U.S. Route 278, a few miles southeast of Dallas. Hiram covers three square miles of land, home to an estimated population of about 4,100 people under the motto, “Blending the Best of the Past, Present and Future.”
The area that’s now Hiram was originally founded as Gray’s Mill in the mid-19th century, named for one of the region’s earliest settlers, Garrett Gray. Several years later, in 1891, the city of Hiram was established by the Georgia General Assembly and named in honor of Hiram Baggett, the town’s first postmaster. Hiram today lives by its principles of history, heritage and hope. Mill Creek runs through part of town, while residents can enjoy the outdoors in Ben Hill Strickland Park and along the Silver Comet Trail.
